As directed by the Teacher, the EHS Teacher Aide assists in the implementation of the Early Head Start curriculum and classroom practice for Infants and Toddlers while fulfilling the requirements of the Early Head Start performance standards.
Supporting the Provision of Instruction: The Teacher Aide, with the guidance of the Classroom Teacher and Teacher Assistant, assists with the presentation of the curriculum, assists with screenings of each new child, and their ongoing assessment. Assumes Teacher Assistant responsibilities in absence of the Assistant.

Classroom Culture / Climate: Assists with maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment. Promote feelings of security and trust by providing supportive, comforting and caring relationships. Embraces the concept of a developmentally integrated classroom with the inclusion of both typically developing children and those with special developmental and educational needs.

Parent Involvement: Encourages parents to participate regularly in the classroom experience and in the activities of the Center including Parent Committees.

Home Visits: Upon request, accompanies Classroom Teacher on home visits to family residences, acknowledging parents as experts and educational partners in their childβs development and education.

Transition: Assists Classroom Teacher and Teacher Assistant with transition Activities.
Β
Health and Safety: Assists in monitoring health needs of children. Immediately reports child abuse and neglect situations to Child Protective Services (CPS). Reports all accidents, emergencies, child neglect or abuse immediately to Classroom Teacher or Center Supervisor.

- High School Diploma or equivalent and one-year experience working with children (preferably preschool children in a pre-school setting) willing to obtain Child Development Associate (CDA) Credentialing.Β

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
