ECDC Kaleidoscope was created in 2009 to nurture childrenรขโฌโขs creative expressions; promote social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development; build a strong foundation for school readiness and life-long learning.
Our goal is to increase childrenรขโฌโขs exposure to positive social interactions, arts, language, mathematics, science, music and movement, drama, and sports.
Our philosophy is รขโฌลlearning through playรขโฌ, which we believe is essential in child development.
This is a fullรขโฌโtime, fullรขโฌโyear position Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wages depend on the assistantรขโฌโขs educational and experience credentials and start from $16/hour.
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and executing daily activities and curriculum.
- Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Help create a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Support childrenรขโฌโขs individual needs, including feeding, diapering, and toilet training.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and exploration.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about childrenรขโฌโขs progress and daily experiences.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
- High school diploma required; an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children ages 2-5 in an educational or childcare setting.
- A genuine love for working with young children and a commitment to their well-being and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and perform tasks that require physical activity.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Minimum Education Level: Highschool Graduate or GED
- Preferred Education Level: Associate's Degree
