ECDC Kaleidoscope was created in 2009 to nurture childrenรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs creative expressions; promote social/emotional, physical, and cognitive development; build a strong foundation for school readiness and life-long learning.

Job Description

This is a fullรขโ‚ฌโ€œtime, fullรขโ‚ฌโ€œyear position Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wages depend on the assistantรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs educational and experience credentials and start from $16/hour.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and executing daily activities and curriculum.
  • Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Help create a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Support childrenรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs individual needs, including feeding, diapering, and toilet training.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and exploration.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about childrenรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs progress and daily experiences.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; an associate degree in early childhood education or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children ages 2-5 in an educational or childcare setting.
  • A genuine love for working with young children and a commitment to their well-being and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and perform tasks that require physical activity.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Minimum Education Level: Highschool Graduate or GED
  • Preferred Education Level: Associate's Degree
