The Early Head Start Teacher I reports directly to the Early Head Start Center Supervisor and plans and implements individually age-appropriate care giving activities, curriculum and practices for infants and toddlers, ages 0-3 years. The teacher puts into practice theories and sound principles of early childhood education and child care and recognizes the parent as a full partner in the infantβs and toddlerβs development. The Teacher embraces the inclusion of both typically developing infants and toddlers and those having special developmental needs.

Β·Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Preferred: A Bachelorβs Degree in Early Childhood Education with two (2) years experience teaching infants and toddlers in a child care setting.Β Or, an Associateβs Degree in Early Child Development with three (3) years teaching infants and toddlers in a child care setting, and an approved plan to meet the foregoing requirement.
Β·Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Minimum: Associate degree in Early Childhood Education with two (2) yearsβ experience teaching infants and toddlers in a childcare setting, OR a High School Diploma or equivalent with a current Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate credentialing (CDA) and five (5) yearsβ experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting and a written plan to meet the minimum requirements within two (2) years.
