Bellevue Day Care Center has been providing Early Childhood Education and Child Care services for 55 years. Located on the East side (28th Street) within Bellevue Hospital Center, the Center includes 4 classrooms (Infants, Toddlers, 3K and PreK) and a private outdoor playground on the hospital campus. Bellevue Day Care Center serves the hospital as well as the surrounding community.
The position is part time/per diem. You gain work experience, free training, and opportunity to work part time and/or full time during school breaks (i.e. summer vacation). Support with earning Child Development Associate or college degree in Early Childhood Education. Non union position, no fringe benefits.
Assisting the teaching team with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities including taking the children to our private playground (weather permitting). Maintaining classroom, materials, and supplies. Caregiving (i.e. assisting with feeding and toileting children, as necessary), participating in the daily routine with fun and educational activities (art, music, dance, storytelling, etc.). Observing and recording the developmental progress of the children and preparing a report. Participating in trainings and staff development activities.
High School Diploma or GED required. Experience is a plus. Able to pass background screening (fingerprints)and work in the U.S.
Able to read and write in English, basic computer skills, healthy (able to lift 40 pounds), emotional composure.
