Park Slope Schoolhouse is a non-profit Early Childcare Center for children ages 1 to 4 in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Our philosophy is play-based and we create our curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices focusing on the individual development, needs and interests of each child.
Job Description
We are currently looking for an afternoon assistant teacher for our 2-year-old classroom from Mondays through Fridays from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with weekly team meetings starting at 1:30 PM. There is also the option of additional substitute hours between 7:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities for children.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in children.
- Use effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and families.
Qualifications
At least 1 year classroom experience.
- Minimum Education Level: Some College Credits
- Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
