• Lead daily classroom activities and age-appropriate learning experiences
• Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and DOH compliance
• Implement curriculum and maintain structured classroom routines
• Maintain documentation, attendance, and daily records as required
• Support positive behavior guidance and classroom management
• Communicate with families and staff regarding children’s progress and needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development

Applicant Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the NYC DOH Article 47 preschool Group Teacher pathways (§47.13):

1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field approved by DOH, with valid NYSED teaching certification,
   OR
2. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, with at least two years of documented preschool experience,
   OR
3. DOH‑approved study plan pathway:
   • Associate’s degree (AA/AS) in Early Childhood Education (with practicum), or
   • 90+ undergraduate credits and one year classroom experience teaching pre-K through grade 2, or
   • Bachelor’s degree in any field with one year classroom experience teaching children up to grade 3

• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
• Successful completion of NYC DOH background clearance and health documentation
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills

• Minimum Education Level: Associate's Degree
• Preferred Education Level: NYS Teacher Certification
