- Will support Families that predominantly speak Spanish
- Maintains records according to agency policy.Β
- Assess and respond to medical and mental health concerns.Β Β
- Support all children including children with special needs.Β
- Liaison with other medical providers and consultants.Β
- Provide educational activities/workshops to employees, children, and parents.Β
- Provide consultation to parents and employees.Β
- Monitor, review and provide guidance based on data collection to improve child outcomes.Β
- Review childrenβs files and provide written and verbal feedback and guidance to direct staff.Β Β
- Support vision and hearing screenings.Β
- Maintain regulatory requirements for Health Care Plan and Medication Administration.Β
- Coordinate and/or attend Health Advisory Committee meetings in collaboration with designated staff person.Β
- Review and Approve the Agency Emergency Response PlansΒ
- Provide guidance for the completion of Child Health Care Plans and monitor every six months for update compliance, renewals or changes in medication and to update doctor/parent permission to continue administering.Β
- Review of any medications that are related to allergies or specific medical care instructions and note this information in the childrenβs file.Β
- Work with families to encourage dental care.Β
- This role is a total of 61 hours a month, schedule is open for discussion. Will need to cover 4 sites (3 sites in Queens and 1 in Manhattan) during school hours 8am-4pm. Must be able to provide services on site, no remote option.Β
Provide support and delivery of health support and guidance to the program staff and parents to guarantee that children are served well balanced nutritionist meals and snacks in alignment with the Head Start Performance Standards and New York City Article 47.
- Registered Nurse, current NYS license
- At least 1 year experience working with young children
- Must have insurance and a W9
- Minimum Education Level: Associate's Degree
- Preferred Education Level: Master's Degree
