The Arc Westchester's Children’s School for Early Development provides educational, social and support services for children, from birth to five years of age, and their families. These services are provided based on the philosophy that children and their families should be given a choice of resources to maximize their child’s potential.
POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
Classroom Aides — provides support to the overall classroom
1:1s — provides support for a particular child throughout the school day
Substitute aides/1:1s — per diem position, various classroom locations may be offered.
All positions have a 25hr work week. Use of a car (or access to dependable public transportation) is required.
Successful candidates will have the following skills: be able to work under the direction of the classroom teacher, self- initiate positive interactions with preschoolers with special needs, function successfully in a busy classroom, be a team player and work successfully with various staff members and related service providers including Occupational, Physical and Speech & Language Therapists, be an active participant in all areas of the classroom.
High School Diploma
Experience working with young children with special needs a plus, but will train.
- Minimum Education Level: Highschool Graduate or GED
- Preferred Education Level: Some College Credits
