Our program is based upon the developmental needs of two, three and four year olds, paying careful attention to social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.Β
Experienced, competent teachers plan learning activities to develop the cognitive skills appropriate for each age group.
Through our music, block building, water and sand play, manipulative games, puzzles and cooking children learn how to problem solve, categorize, make comparisons, share ideas, reason and make decisions.
Lead Teacher opening at a private preschool on Long Island
Hours: MWF 9:00AM to 12:50PM
Teachers will:
β’ Lead hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
β’ Follow thematic curriculum by the school administration.
β’ Write organized weekly lesson plans based upon thematic units set by administration.
β’ Effectively execute and implement lessons every session.
β’ Utilize materials provided by the school.
β’ Communicate with parents and share in the important happenings of the childrenβs day.
β’ Keep the classroom safe and clean by following important procedures and guidelines.
β’ Work cooperatively with teaching assistants, parents, and school administration to ensure a positive, healthy and nurturing environment.
β’ This is a 10 month position and follows an academic school calendar. The program runs from September 8, 2025, through June 12, 2026. There is an opening staff meeting on September 4, 2025. Staff are paid for class sessions, 30 minute prep before class, 30 minutes post class, staff meetings and anything the Director requests staff to stay for (requests are made in advance. It is expected that the teacher will not be taking time off for vacations since vacations are built into the school year.
β’ There is no paid sick time or PTO. Time off is unpaid time.
Requirements
Candidates must pass required background checks, and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements:
β’ Possess NYS certification in Early Childhood Education, Pre-K to 6th grade (Bachelorβs or Masterβs level) or an Associates degree or Child Development Associate with at least 2 years of teaching experience.
β’ Please note that demonstrated experience working with children; child care, daycare, or is preschool preferred.
Compensation is $76.60 per session. Extra hours you are asked to work by administration will be paid at the hourly rate of $20ph. This includes mandatory staff meetings, paid trainings, extra meetings, clean up sessions, school functions you might be asked to attend (ample notice is given), events, etc.
