Head Start of Eastern Orange County is a preschool program in the City of Newburgh that serves 3-5 year children from old low income families. We currently serve 144 kids in 8 full day classrooms. You can learn more about our program by visiting our website at www.hseoc.org.
We are hiring a full time NYS Certified ECE teacher to lead a classroom of 18 3-5 year old's with the help of 2 assistant teachers. The candidate is responsible for implementing the High Scope curriculum and Pyramid Model framework.
- Writing and implementing the daily lesson plan based on children's interests and the High Scope curriculum
- Observation and assessment of the children using the COR assessment
- Collaborating with 2 assistant teachers
- Implementing the Pyramid Model framework
- Classroom management
- Participating in regular professional development and coaching
- Family engagement including 2 home visits and 2 parent teacher conferences annually
- Ensuring compliance of OCFS and Office of Head Start regulations in the classroom
All applicants must have a minimum of a bachelors degree and initial NYS certification in ECE. Anyone without a master's degree and professional certification will need to work towards this once hired.
