Christina Daycare Inc., doing business as Blake & Milford Daycare Center (DCC), offers educational services to 50 children in the East New York Community. The Department of Education has contracted with Blake & Milford DCC to provide these services, which are funded through the Birth to Five grant.
Blake & Milford Early Childhood Program is seeking a head teacher for our toddler classroom to join our dedicated team of professionals focused on educating young children. As the head teacher, you will be responsible for implementing the curriculum alongside your co-teacher, supervising and managing a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom, encouraging parental involvement, and ensuring compliance with city and state regulations.
Ideal candidates should be highly motivated, passionate, and able to multitask effectively. A positive attitude and the ability to interact well with families, parents, and children are essential for this role.
- Meet the individual needs of the children.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Arrange the classroom, including rooms and furniture, to support children's development.
- Understand child development and implement age-appropriate activities.
- Possess knowledge of teaching strategies and the GOLD Assessment.
- Be familiar with the Creative Curriculum.
- Implement activities that promote self-esteem and social skills.
- Develop developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with state standards.
- Utilize computer skills to input and submit observations into Teaching Strategies GOLD.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences.
- Light housekeeping.
- An associate's degree in early childhood education working towards a BA/BS Degree.
- BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- NYS Teaching Certification, Birth to 2nd a plus.
- Experiencing with children 2 to 6 years of age.
