This individual must have a pleasant disposition, and be able to greet children, families, and co-workers with positive energy. They must have the ability to follow and execute tasks and follow the standard and expectations set by the lead teacher and center Director with attention to detail. This is not a sedentary position, the ability to lift children, bend, play on the floor and run across the room is important. Active supervision is the cornerstone of quality care in the classroom, on the playground, and anywhere the children are. This individual must be able to understand and follow the regulations set forth by the Office of Children and Family Services. Children learn best when they can follow the example of their teachers. The candidate should be prepared to work in a classroom of 14 children with one lead teacher for 8 hours daily, Monday - Friday.
Yaks Youth Center is open from 6:30 AM to 6 PM daily and runs 12 months a year.
A minimum high school diploma, or GED is required. An associate’s degree is preferred.
