Description:

The Daycare Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in providing a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children in a daycare setting. This role involves assisting with curriculum implementation, supervising children, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting the social and emotional development of the children.

Responsibilities:

- Support the lead teacher in implementing age appropriate curriculum and activities that promote child development and learning,

Â Â -Collaborate with the lead teacher and classroom resources. to plan and prepare lesson materials and resources.

Â Â -Provide individualized attention and support to children as directed by the lead teacher.

2.** Supervision and Care**

Â Â Â - Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well- being at all times.

Â Â Â -Â Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and toileting, following established procedures and guidelines.

Â Â Â - Monitor children's behavior and interactions ,intervening as needed to promote positive social skills and conflict resolution.

3.** Classroom Management**

Â Â Â -Â Help maintain a clean organized, and inviting classroom environment conducive to learning and play.

Â Â Â -Assist with setting up and maintaining learning centers, materials, and equipment for daily activities.

Â Â Â -Encourage children to participate in activities and follow classroom rules and routines.

4.**Communication and Collaboration**

Â Â Â -Â Communicate regularly with the lead teacher, sharing observations, concerns, and updates on children's progress.Â Â

Â Â Â - Foster positive relationships with parents, and caregivers, demonstrating professionalism and empathy in all interactions.

Â Â - Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.

Â Â - Seek feedback from lead teacher and supervisorsÂ to improve performance and effectiveness in supporting children's development.

Qualifications:

The qualifications needed for Assistant Teacher-

-High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

Â - Previous experience working withÂ young children in a daycare, preschool or similar setting.

Â -Basic understanding of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques.

- Patience, flexibility and a passion for working with children.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-CPR and First Aid certification ( or a willingness to obtain)

Minimum Education Level: Highschool Graduate or GED

Preferred Education Level: Some College Credits
