Pre-K Lead Teacher position working with children ages 3 to 5 in a Head Start classroom.
Under the guidance of the education director, the lead teacher's responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of children by providing a clean and healthy environment.
- Providing a warm, nurturing environment that is conducive to learning.
- Screening children for potential developmental delays.
- Implement The Creative Curriculum for Preschool and Ongoing Assessment System.
- Planning curriculum that ensures children achieve school readiness goals.
- Observing and documenting children's actions and language as part of ongoing assessment.
- Planning and individualizing for children with IEPs.
- Anaylzing child outcomes three times a year and creating improvement plans.
- Communicating with parents, guardians and caregivers.
- Participating in ongoing professional development.

Study plan teacher with an associate's degree in ECE plus current enrollment in an accredited college working towards a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or special education and preparing to that NYS certification exams.

B.S. in early childhood or special education with NYS Initial Certification (or pending certification).

M.S. in early childhood education or special education with professional or permanent certification (or pending certification).
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in early childhood education and active enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for early childhood education.
Preferred Qualifications: M.S. in early childhood education or special education with professional or permanent certification (or pending certification).
