Job Description
Jumper Bean is a New York State licensed facility. Here at Jumper Bean we have created an environment where children feel safe, eat well balanced organic meals, are encouraged to play, stay active, and learn about the environment.
Our program strives for excellence and provides the highest quality care to our children and their families. A Preschool Teacher at our center will plan and implement daily educational program’s that are developmentally appropriate, supervise the class, play with children outdoors, help with meal time, hold parent conferences, keep children safe, and maintain a clean and orderly room and Center.
Responsibilities
- Planning and presenting age appropriate activities for children ages 3-4yrs
- Instruct children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
- Create a rich learning environment that is safe, educational and sanitary.
- Meet the needs of the children such as: education, indoor and outdoor play, naptime, meals, social and emotional wellness.
- Work well in a team setting
- Willingness to stay current on 15 hours of scheduled trainings per year
- Willingness to work 40 hrs per week with an alternating shift of 8:00am-5:00pm / 8:30am-5:30pm with one hour break OR 8:30am-5:00pm / 9:00am-5:30pm with a 30 minute break.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education AND
- One year of teaching experience in a daycare or related setting
- OR
- An Associates degree in Early Childhood or related field AND
- Two or more years teaching experience in a daycare or related setting
- OR
- CDAÂ completed with 1 year head teacher experience
- Minimum Education Level: CDA Credential
- Preferred Education Level: Associate's Degree
