The Teacher Aide/Floater supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program
The Floater is responsible for:
- Room coverage at lunch and other times when necessary
- Maintain classroom control, management, and sanitation
- Provide a routine by maintaining daily schedule adherence
- Must keep the Director and Assistant Director informed concerning staff members, children, and parental issues.
- Maintaining the CenterΓ’β¬β’s policies and procedures
- Attend on-going training
- High energy.
- Ability to work well with others
- Mandated Child Abuse Training
- Must have a current physical
- Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences
- Additional duties as needed
A desire to work with children through positive interaction is required.ΓΒ
Prior experience in childcare preferred.ΓΒ
Continuing education classes are preferred.ΓΒ
CPR and First Aid certification is required within the first six months/ or can obtainΓΒ while on the jobΓΒ
Must undergoΓΒ a background checkΓΒ before the first day of work.ΓΒ
Good time management, oral and written communication is required.ΓΒ
Dependable, flexible, and a team player required.
