As an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, you'll work hand-in-hand with educators to enhance their ability to provide vital social-emotional support and reflective practices. - Collaborate with educators to develop and implement strategies that enhance social-emotional learning in early childhood settings.
- Provide expert guidance and support to teachers, helping them integrate mental health practices into their daily routines.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify the mental health needs of children and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff to build their capacity in fostering nurturing and supportive environments.
- Work closely with families to offer insights and resources that promote children's mental well-being at home and in school.
- Maintain detailed records of consultations and interventions, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings to share insights and contribute to the continuous improvement of mental health programs and services.
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related behavioral health or counseling field required
- Licensed or licensed-eligible clinicians preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with young children (birth to age five) and/or families with young children
- Experience coaching, training, mentoring, or teaching adult learners
- Working knowledge of typical and atypical early childhood development, as well as infant and early childhood mental health principles and practices
- Must obtain endorsement from the New York State Association of Infant Mental Health (NYSAIMH) within one (1) year of employment.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally across Long Island as needed
- Experience working within early childhood settings preferred
