Job Description

Experienced Toddler Teacher | Childcare / Daycare (Ages 1 years old to 2 years old)

Location: Staten Island, NY

Pay: $21 to $24 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Full-Time, 8 to 5 or 9 to 6

The Learning Experience® – Staten Island, NY is hiring an experienced infant/toddler teacher for our 6 weeks to 12 month and 1-2 year old classrooms. Join our growing childcare center in Staten Island, New York and make a meaningful impact in early childhood education.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and support a preschool or daycare classroom for ages 2 to 5

 • Implement our L.E.A.P. Curriculum® in a childcare setting

 • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

 • Build strong relationships with children and families

 • Collaborate with staff to support enrollment and engagement goals

 • Ensure the safety, supervision, and development of every child

What You’ll Bring

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or on a Study Plan toward a Bachelor’s degree

 • Prior childcare, and  daycare experience required

 • Strong understanding of early childhood education and development

 • Ability to manage classroom routines and meet children’s daily needs

 • Professional, patient, and team-oriented mindset

 • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively supervise children

Responsibilities

Education – Must Meet ONE of the Following:

  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Currently enrolled in a Study Plan working toward an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential AND enrolled in a Study Plan to obtain an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education within 7 years

Experience & Additional Requirements:

  • Prior infant/toddler childcare or daycare experience required
  • Experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 2 years
  • Strong understanding of infant and toddler development
  • Ability to maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
  • Ability to manage daily routines including feeding, diapering, naps, transitions, and classroom activities
  • Strong supervision and classroom management skills
  • Professional, dependable, patient, and nurturing
  • Strong communication skills with families and coworkers
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Must meet all applicable NYC childcare background clearance, medical, and training requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively supervise young children throughout the day
