The Learning Experience® – Staten Island, NY is hiring a Lead Teacher for our young preschool classrooms ages 2-4 . Join our brand-new childcare center in Staten Island, New York and grow your career in early childhood education with a nationally recognized leader in daycare and preschool programs.
What You’ll Do
• Lead a childcare classroom using our L.E.A.P. Curriculum®
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging preschool environment
• Coach and mentor assistant teachers
• Manage daily routines, activities, and classroom structure
• Communicate with families about child progress and development
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children
What You’ll Bring
• 1–2 years of preschool, daycare, or childcare teaching experience
• Bachelors Degree or 90 credits of Early Childhood Education (or currently on a Study Plan in Education)
• Knowledge of early childhood education and DAP
• Strong leadership and classroom management skills
• CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Education – Must Meet ONE of the Following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or a related education field
- 90+ college credits toward a degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or a related education field
- Currently enrolled in an approved Study Plan working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or a related education field
Experience & Additional Requirements:
- 1–2 years of experience working in a preschool, daycare, childcare, or early childhood classroom
- Experience working with children approximately ages 2.5–4 years old
- Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices (DAP)
- Strong classroom management and leadership skills
- Ability to lead a classroom and work collaboratively with assistant teachers
- Strong communication skills with children, families, and staff
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Must meet all applicable NYC childcare staff clearance and health requirements
Education – Must Meet ONE of the Following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or a related education field
- 90+ college credits toward a degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or a related education field
- Currently enrolled in an approved Study Plan working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or a related education field
- Minimum Education Level: Some College Credits
- Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
