Little Scholars Learning Center is looking for a caring, experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team in Chelsea, Manhattan.
Position Details
Location: 600 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10011
Pay: $24–$27 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Sign-on Bonus: $250
About the Role
As a Lead Preschool Teacher, you will create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment where young children can learn through play, exploration, and meaningful daily experiences.
You will work closely with children, families, and fellow educators while supporting each child’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and lead age-appropriate, play-based learning activities
- Create a warm, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Adapt activities and lesson plans to children’s developmental needs
- Observe and document children’s progress and development
- Build positive relationships with children and communicate with families
- Maintain appropriate classroom supervision and safety standards
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other team members
- Support a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 12 ECE credits
- At least 1 year of experience working with young children
- Familiarity with early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, reliability, and a nurturing approach to early childhood education
- Ability to meet applicable state and licensing requirements for the position
- Ability to reliably commute to 600 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10011
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Exploration Curriculum and/or Units of Study
- Valid NYS Birth–Grade 2 Teaching Certificate
- Knowledge of additional languages
