Park Slope Schoolhouse is a non-profit Early Childcare Center for children ages 1 to 4 in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Our philosophy is play-based and we create our curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices focusing on the individual development, needs and interests of each child.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Early Childhood Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant educational team, focusing on nurturing and guiding 2-year-old children. In this role, you will help create a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that promotes early childhood growth.
- Assist in implementing daily activities that align with the children's individual interests and needs.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment tailored to toddler needs.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, emotional regulation.
- Observe childrenβs developmental progress to inform individualized support strategies.
- Foster positive behavior management techniques that encourage cooperation and independence among young children.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to child development.
- Bachelor's Degree (or currently in a BA program) strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working with toddlers in an early childhood education setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management strategies, and behavior management techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Minimum Education Level: CDA Credential
- Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
