TorahLovingCare (TLC) is a New York State licensed, nonprofit, Orthodox Jewish child care center in Brighton. We offer care to children from 6 weeks to 4 years of age. At TLC, each childβs unique social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development is nurtured in a fun, loving, safe, creative learning environment. Our child care center seeks an energetic, nurturing, patient, reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Teacher. Qualities should include an optimistic attitude, the ability to remain calm & work well under pressure, a strong work ethic, flexibility, the ability to multitask, and a passion for working with young children. We are accepting resumes for positions in our Toddler and Pre K classrooms. Experience with Reggio/Montessori teaching philosophies would be very helpful as our curriculum closely aligns with them.
Assistant teacher will assist the Lead Teacher with the following:

- Maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Implementing daily classroom activities
- Observing and monitoring play activities
- Helping children to expand upon their play by engaging with them at their level.
- Keeping the classroom clean, organized, and in compliance with NYS Regulations
- Knowing and ensuring that the NYS Regulations are followed at all times.
- Maintaining the required documentation as required by NYS regulations, including enforcing the Health Care Plan and ensuring we do not spread infectious disease.
- Using positive child guidance strategies and redirection as the means of behavior management. We use the pyramid model framework.
- Develop and maintain a healthy, cooperative relationship with the rest of the team (Lead Teacher, other Assistant Teachers, and Administration).
- Willingness to communicate with Staff and Administration any concerns or questions you may have regarding your job duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age, a high school diploma, and must be at least 18 years of age. Will need to provide a copy of all diplomas, degrees and relevant transcripts as proof of education.
- Optional/preferred: if hold a current CDA credential in infant/toddler or preschool age group.
- Optional/preferred: if have college credits in early childhood.
