Program Description
The Career and Professional Programs division at LaGuardia Community College seeks a part-time Instructor & Curriculum Developer to support the development and delivery of a 150-hourΒ
CDA Infant/Toddler preparation course. The program prepares adult learners for ChildΒ
Development Associate (CDA) Certification, providing foundational knowledge and appliedΒ
skills aligned with industry standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Instructor & Curriculum Developer will:
Develop and revise curriculum for a 150-hour CDA Infant/Toddler certification course,Β
aligned with CDA competency standards
Create lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments
Deliver engaging instruction to adult learners, including synchronous and asynchronousΒ
sessions
Ensure course and program learning outcomes are met
Evaluate student progress, maintain attendance and grading records, and submit requiredΒ
documentation
Modify instructional approaches in response to feedback and program needs
Participate in program meetings, orientations, and debriefs as required
Qualifications
Required:
T-TAP Credential
BA/MS in Early Childhood Education or equivalent degree in related field
Experience developing curriculum for adult learners
Experience teaching or training in early childhood education or childcare
Knowledge of CDA Infant/Toddler competency standards
Ability to deliver instruction effectively in both in-person and online environments
Ability to work with diverse adultΒ
learners and learning styles
Preferred:
Prior experience preparing students for CDA Certification
Teaching experience in hybrid or online formats
