1. Appropriately supervise children at all times according to DOH and DOE regulations to facilitate safety and optimal program functioning.
2. Plan and execute a program within the classroom that meets the educational, social, developmental and health needs of the group and the individual child.
3. Develop educational goals appropriate to the age and developmental level of each child.
4. Take responsibility for keeping classroom furniture, equipment and materials accessible and in good condition.
5. Assist the Educational Director in promoting the professional growth and development of classroom associates.
6. Keep accurate and up to date written records on children’s progress according to DOE, DOH and Salvation Army policy.   
7. Regularly communicate child’s progress to parents, caregivers and relevant center staff.
8. Maintain good working relationships with parents/caregivers and Salvation Army colleagues.
9. Conduct parent conferences.
10. Participate in staff meetings, mandatory trainings and professional development opportunities.
11. Participate in recruitment activities to increase enrollment in the centers.
12. If necessary and appropriate, fulfill administrative functions in the absence of the Educational Director. 
13. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), NYC Department of Education online platforms, and Teaching Strategies.
14. Other duties as assigned, consistent with the above and according to programmatic need.

Must have a Bachelors in Early childhood education or Masters in Early Childhood education

• Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
• Preferred Education Level: NYS Teacher Certification
