Jericho STEM Academy is an OCFS-licensed preschool program that provides a nurturing environment designed for children from 6 weeks old to pre-K. Our goal is to prepare children for success in all aspects of their lives. Our STEM curriculum is aligned with New York State standards and designed to ensure your child thrives academically and socially.
Lead teacher for the PreK Class
- Develop a thoughtful and creative curriculum suitable for all children. - Utilize a variety of educational techniques (such as storytelling, educational play, and media) to enhance children's learning. - Observe each child to help improve their social skills and build self-esteem. - Encourage children to interact with one another. - Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a structured curriculum (e.g., identifying shapes, numbers, or colors, and engaging in crafts / STEM). - Organize and supervise children to ensure their safety at all times. - Monitor children's progress and communicate findings to parents. - Collaborate with other educators.
- Keep the classroom clean and organized in accordance with health and safety standards.
Required Education: - High School Diploma
- CDA certification in Preschool OR Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education OR Elementary Education, OR a minimum of 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of working experience in childcare, including at least 1 year in a lead teacher role.
- Minimum Education Level: CDA Credential
- Preferred Education Level: CDA Credential
