Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, a designated Level 3 Medical Home, is the largest federally qualified health center network in New York State, and the second largest in the nation. In this role, the successful candidate Under the supervision of the Education Director of the Center, the certified teachers shall be responsible for working within the framework of Sunset Park Health Council, DOE, DOHMH, NAEYC, and Quality Stars NY standards, policies and procedures. Teachers promote early childhood education for children and families both in and out of the classroom by providing sound supervision, developmentally appropriate lessons and community outings, and ensuring the health and safety of all children. Teachers develop positive parent relations and encourage parental involvement and the professional growth of classroom associates. Additionally, teachers conduct regular team meetings, attend staff meetings and seek out professional development opportunities to meet the needs of their classrooms. Teachers must document lessons, observations, assessments and all necessary paperwork.
