• Support the lead teacher in implementing the Montessori curriculum.
• Present appropriate lessons to meet the needs of the individual child with concern for his/her individual potential, special talents, learning style, and developmental readiness
• Assist in providing a safe, clean, nurturing, and beautiful learning environment.
• Convey a positive attitude and demonstrate a disposition toward life-long learning, an appreciation of human potential, and respect for the world
• Ensure ground rules of indoor and outdoor environment are followed at all times.
• Follow all NYS OCFS regulations, including but not limited to: supervision, health and safety, and record keeping.
• Help supervise students in the execution of fire drills and emergency evacuations.
• Model integrity, curiosity, responsibility, creativity, and respect for all persons, and exhibit a peaceful attitude.
• Comply with continuing education requirements.

1. Bachelor/Associate degree in early childhood or related field or equivalent
2. Current certification for first aid and CPR for infant, child, and adult 
3. Clear NYS OCFS fingerprinting and background check.
4. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, and enjoyment and deep respect for young children and their families.
5. Strength and stamina for the physical demands of kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting at child’s level, walking, standing, lifting, and handling equipment, furniture, and materials.

• Minimum Education Level: Associate's Degree
• Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
