Description:

We are hiring an experienced and talented Head Teacher in our 18-24 month classroom. This teachers will lead our newest incoming students to their first school experience in the infant/toddler classroom, which we call our Goldfish cohort. Students will be in a 1:5 ratio with a Teaching Assistant alongside the Head Teacher. The Toddler Teacher will be responsible for supervising nap and while performing that task, assisting the Directors with administrative tasks related to the curriculum. This position will begin as a part time position, and will grow into a full time position once our Ardsley location is fully licensed.

At The Indy Lab, we follow the Department of Health's Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF) goals across the five areas of development: physical/motor, language/literacy, cognition, social-emotional and approaches to learning. Our lesson plans are originally created and curated to target these goals across all our cohorts. We then use these goals to discuss a student's progress during parent conferences. We meet with parents 3x/year during conferences. Our morning schedule is composed of our three core segments: Playful Literacy, STEM and Drama and our afternoon is based on uninterrupted free play and outdoor/active play.

Full-Time Schedule:

  • 8:00am: Lesson Preparation
  • 8:30am: Set up classroom
  • 9:00am: Arrivals
  • 10:00am: Circle Time
  • 10:15am: Snack
  • 10:30am: Sports/Dance or Outdoor Time
  • 11:00am: STEM
  • 11:30am: Playful Literacy
  • 12:00pm: Drama
  • 12:15pm: Facilitate Dismissal
  • 12:45pm: Clean Up

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Qualifications:

Required

· Professional language and high customer service for family engagement

· Interest in play and project-based curricula.

· Demonstration of creativity and interest in play-based teaching methods in a skills-based interview.

· Value of teamwork, diversity, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation.

Desired

· 2 years of experience in a preschool setting.

· Minimum of Bachelors in Early Education or Child Development Associates

· Substitution during summer months for camp
