Description:

This is a full-time (8:30am to 5:30pm) on-site role for a Lead 4K DOE Preschool Teacher at BedRock Preschool located in Bronx, NY. The Lead Preschool Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, assessing and monitoring student progress, communicating with parents and staff, and promoting a positive classroom culture.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop an age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Prepare for lessons by gathering materials or setting up activities.
  • Read stories and lead students through alphabet and letter recognition.
  • Engage and encourage students to use their language skills; develop social skills and manners.
  • Monitor students’ playtime and physical activities.
  • Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials.

Qualifications:

 

  • Candidates have a valid, certified NYS Teaching Certification in Birth to Grade 2.
  • MA or BA in Early Childhood Education.
  • 2-5 years of teaching experience in a preschool setting.
  • Solid knowledge of curriculum development.
  • Firm understanding for the following are required: authentic assessment, Teaching Strategies, CLASS, and ECERS assessments.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with young children.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Education Level: NYS Teacher Certification
Preferred Education Level: Master's Degree
