North Shore Montessori School is a non-profit organization chartered by The New York State Board of Regents, is recognized by the Three Village School District, licensed by NYS Office of Children and Family Services and is a Full Member School of The American Montessori Society.
Located in the quaint and historic village of Old Stony Brook on eastern Long Island, the North Shore Montessori School offers the finest enriched learning experience for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. The school was founded in 1970 by a group of parents who shared the vision of providing the best education possible for their children. Since its inception, this organization has remained the strong Montessori parent cooperative which was envisioned by its founders.

Assistant Teacher - North Shore Montessori School
- Perform duties as an assistant to the lead teacher in the classroom (ages range from 18 months to 3 years old).
- Monday - FridayÂ
- Multiple positions; full time and part time available; shifts vary
- Salary commensurate on education and experience
- Salary: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

- Maintains a nurturing and patient stature to facilitate a content, calm and positive atmosphere for children.
- Ensures that all state and local requirements are met for the supervision of the children.
- Performs other related duties and assignments determined on the basis of need.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings, community events, and other meetings identified.
- Assist in preparation and maintenance of the classroom environment each day.
- Assist in preparation of curriculum materials.
- Helps to maintain general classroom control and reinforces classroom and school rules.
- Supervise hallways, bathrooms or other areas as assigned
- Assist children with diapering and/or toileting when necessary
- High School diploma or its equivalent
- One year experience working with children under 5 (preferred)
- Minimum Education Level: Highschool Graduate or GED
- Preferred Education Level: Associate's Degree
