Teacher Assistant

Assistant Teacher - North Shore Montessori School

• Perform duties as an assistant to the lead teacher in the classroom (ages range from 18 months to 3 years old).
• Monday - Friday 
• Multiple positions; full time and part time available; shifts vary
• Salary commensurate on education and experience
• Salary: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Maintains a nurturing and patient stature to facilitate a content, calm and positive atmosphere for children.
• Ensures that all state and local requirements are met for the supervision of the children.
• Performs other related duties and assignments determined on the basis of need.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings, community events, and other meetings identified.
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of the classroom environment each day.
• Assist in preparation of curriculum materials.
• Helps to maintain general classroom control and reinforces classroom and school rules.
• Supervise hallways, bathrooms or other areas as assigned
• Assist children with diapering and/or toileting when necessary
