KHCC is seeking a tenacious Communications Associate with a good eye for detail. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Communications Associate will be responsible for a broad range of communications and development projects. The ideal candidate has extraordinary organizational skills, is detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment without losing sight of overall business, brand and audience goals.

Responsibilities:

  • manage social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), including creating calendar for content, executing campaigns, and tracking performance with monthly reports on analytics

  • act as liaison between Communications team and internal programs regarding updates, events, promotional materials, and outreach/enrollment needs

  • maintain and update database of media contacts and community partners

  • draft email newsletters for internal and external communications

  • work with the Development team to organize events with a number of responsibilities, including planning of the benefit and smaller cultivation, meeting with the event planning committee, assisting with developing event programs, drafting flyers and invitations, promoting events, researching honorees and soliciting auction items.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or journalism OR student (undergraduate or graduate program) preparing for graduation

  • Bilingual ability to write in and speak English as well as Spanish (preferred)

  • previous professional or internship experience at a nonprofit, PR agency, and/or media company with examples of past projects

  • familiarity with Constant Contact or other email marketing platforms

  • experience creating/editing video for social media

  • experience executing social media strategy for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, Twitter, and Youtube

  • Results-driven, action-oriented working style with attention to detail

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to work well with a variety of people and excellent relationship building skills

  • Experience with standard software tools (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as graphic design tools like Canva

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Passion aligning with KHCC’s mission and values

Additional Information:
