Established in 1980 to serve families throughout the greater Corning area, Corning Childrenβs Center aims to set the standard in early care and education by inspiring learners, leaders, and dreamers. We provide high quality care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers (ages 6 weeks to 5 years). Our Center has a strong sense of community, and children learn and grow within an environment that is positive, diverse, creative, stimulating, and caring β one that recognizes and appreciates the uniqueness of each child.
In collaboration with the lead teacher, the teacher is responsible for creating an environment that promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of the children in their assigned classroom. They should serve as a team member in developing creative lesson plans and implementing them in their respective classrooms.
- Develop, present and evaluate age-appropriate lessonΒ plans with the lead teacher
- Supervise all classroom and daily routine activities
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with families and other staff members
- Establish aΒ nurturing relationship with the children in the classroom and serve as a positive role model
- Responsible to work in compliance of state regulations
- Maintain and model high standard of professional confidentiality
- CDA (Child Development Associate), associate degree, bachelor's or master's degree in early childhood or related field.Β
- Minimum of 3 months paid or volunteers experience in a childcare setting
- Knowledge of children's developmental stages
- Minimum Education Level: CDA Credential
- Preferred Education Level: CDA Credential
