Job Description

Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Head Start Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with Head Start Performance Standards and the Early Learning Outcomes Framework.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.

  • Observe, assess, and document children's progress; use data to inform instruction.

  • Collaborate with parents and families to support children's development and learning.

  • Supervise and mentor teacher assistants and volunteers.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least 12 credits in Early Childhood Education.

  • Minimum of one year of experience teaching young children in an accredited/licensed early childhood program.

  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with New York State Certification.

  • Experience with Head Start or similar early childhood education programs.

  • Proficiency in a second language is a plus.

  • Minimum Education Level: Associate's Degree
  • Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
