Today we are excited to launch an update of the Institute blog. The new blog will have three headings: Institute News and Updates, Early Childhood News, and a new section titled Teaching, Leading and Caring.

The Teaching, Leading and Caring section was inspired by Institute Staff who work directly with practitioners. During this public health crisis, the Institute coaches, professional development providers, and quality improvement specialists –who have deep, supportive relationships with early childhood leaders, teachers and family child care providers – find that we need a space for public conversation. The stance of Teaching, Leading and Caring is one of inquiry. This will be a place to share our reflections, make connections and ask questions of the field.

We know you are receiving resources and advice from every direction. Our goal is not to add to the pile. When navigating the Teaching, Leading and Caring blog, you will find links to essential Co-VID updates, remote learning websites and resources on the right side. In the blog space, we will share content that is inspiring, thought provoking, and relevant to the teaching and learning of young children during this time and beyond.

Over the next few weeks, look for reflections about keeping remote learning play-based, why puppets are essential now, and what happens to equity when your classroom is 18 homes. We welcome our readers to post your ideas in the comments. We look forward to learning from and with you!
