We are seeking a warm and nurturing, collaborative and creative, awesome lead 2's teacher for a Conservative Synagogue affiliated Preschool.

Kane Street Kids embraces families from all backgrounds and cultivates a connnection to Jewish traditions and values. Our warm, nurturing teachers promote learning through interactive experiences, play and social interaction, and provide an environment where children develop cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically. We warmly welcome families and teachers of all religions and religious approaches, as long as they are open to the practice of Jewish customs and traditions in the classroom.

Kane Street Kids is looking for teachers who create curricula based on the children’s interests and developmental needs and who provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for the children to grow and explore. We value individuals who work together with the other teachers, parents, and the larger community to construct holistic, enjoyable, and educational experiences for the young children at Kane Street Kids.

Responsibilities:

Your professional responsibilities will include the following:

●The safety and wellbeing of every child in your classroom;

●To meet and exceed the standards of education and care that is expected by each parent and KSK;

●Student and parent orientation;

●Classroom visits prior to the beginning of the school year;

●Curriculum planning, and lesson plans and implementation;

●Regular communication with parents throughout the year, via newsletters, email, and printed materials;

Regular communicatin with the director 

●Student assessments;

●Staff meetings;

●Three (3) special Sunday events;

●Classroom set up and maintenance;

●All general tasks involved in the smooth running of a creative, age-appropriate classroom.

Qualifications:

Masters in Early Childhood Education and NYS Certification or working towards.

  • prior experience as a head teacher
