Description:

Supermoon Art Space, a community art center and early childhood center in Ridgewood, Queens, is seeking a Group Teacher/Education Director. We are a small, art-based program, looking for someone who is passionate, proactive, and creative. Spanish speakers are a plus! Applicants must have a degree (bachelors or masters) as well as NYS certification in Early Childhood Education. Hours are Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm. Hourly rate is $24/hr. (roughly $50K/yr)

Responsibilities:

-Provide a safe and caring environment for children, employing an inclusive and play-based

philosophy.

-Encourage play and growth in all areas of development: social, emotional, cognitive, linguistic, and physical.

-Collaborate with Director and teaching assistants to create a stimulating, inclusive and creative curriculum.

-Take a professional leadership role in communicating with parents.

-Report emergencies to the Director or otherwise designated person in charge.

-Provide a safe, clean, and caring environment for children indoors and outdoors.

-Help with assistant teacher supervision and mentoring.

Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Early Childhood Education

NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education
