A private NYCEEC Pre-K program in Whitestone, Queens is seeking a Head Teacher with the following qualifications:
We are looking for a full time, responsible, UPK Head Teacher to lead the second half of the 2017-2018 school year! The Head Teacher is responsible for all aspects of care and education for a class of approximately 18 children. The Head Teacher implements the Pre-K program ensuring developmentally appropriate activities for the children according to the New York State Common Core Learning Standards. He/She will create a safe and educational environment that prepares children for Kindergarten and beyond.Position is needed immediately to complete for the second half of the 2017/2018 School Year, and for the following school year as well.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day activities
- Maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment
- Develop and implement consistent, weekly lesson plans
- Build strong relationships and engage with all parents and caregivers from diverse backgrounds
- Supervision/Evaluation of each child
- Record keeping
- Be a team player!
Requirements:
- Valid New York State Permanent Certification Birth - 2nd or PreK - 6th
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching Pre-K with The NYC Department of Education curriculum, standards, Work Sampling and ECER-S
- Loving, team player, organized, creative, mature, nurturing and responsible
