playLab studies the development of young children and the unique role of play in their lives. We are currently seeking part-time early childhood coach(es) to work with Early Head Start teachers and collaboratively develop tailored coaching plans to improve classroom practice.
Þ Observe Early Head Start classrooms using the ITERS-R/ECERS-R tools
Þ Focus on specific tasks, skills, or techniques of the developing child
Þ Assist teachers to structure and develop environments, routines, and interactions in developmentally appropriate ways to support overall child development
Þ Encourage, support, motivate, and work interactively with teachers to develop a coaching plan and implement ongoing goals related to specific developmental domains
Þ Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field
Þ Candidates with experience collecting classroom observations using the ITERS-R/ECERS-R tools preferred
Þ Experience coaching or in an early childhood setting is a plus
Þ Experience working with Early Head Start or knowledge of Early Head Start standards
Þ Excellent oral/written communication skills, competent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills
