Modeling High Scope curriculum and implementing the teaching pyramid to fidelity as
directed by the School Age Teacher.*
In the absence of the teacher, follow and carry out the daily routine.*
Attend and participate in team meetings and workshops offered at RCN and by other institutes.*
Support and enforce classroom and center policies.*
Assist with ensuring safety of Children through close supervision of activities; Foster adherence of safety rules and policies when children are going to and from school or field trips.*
Assist School Age Teacher with maintaining all required attendance, Child and Adult Care Food Program, New York State Office of Children and Family Services and other RCN required paperwork to fidelity.*
Contribute to a clean, attractive, stimulating, safe, and organized classroom as well as assists in maintaining the cleanliness of floors, bathrooms, toys, and carpets according to New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations, Rochester Childfirst Network policies and procedures, and teaching pyramid model practices.*
Maintains open communication with the teacher about the daily events in the classroom.
Assist teacher in carrying out lesson plans based on themes and other areas of studies.
Assist teacher in leading interest groups and gathering materials.
Demonstrate willingness to expand knowledge of teaching skills, learning styles, and other information that will enhance level of support to the teacher and care to children enrolled in program.*
Adhere to and have knowledge of OCFS regulations; ratio, incident reports, supervision of children; staffing to ratio is required, and flexibility of assigned hours is expected.*
Follow the end of day closing procedures.
Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding child(ren) and family communications; refer to teacher for communication instructions.*
Assist with special needs of children as required per IEP and behavioral plans.
Follow the pyramid model of challenging behaviors to fidelity at all times.*
Uses non-punitive methods of discipline, and offers guidance in a positive manner.
Able to adapt to the immediate situation and change plans as needed.
Ensure that minimum of two times outside time is occurring daily per OCFS requirements.*
Ensure that smart boards are only used 10-15 minutes daily and must be reflected on lesson plan.
Implement the use of PATHS curriculum for social and emotional development weekly.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED and one year of early childhood experience;
