Assistant Teachers Needed for UPK and 3K Classrooms

Be Above #16 Jamaica NAACP Day Care Center is looking for two (2) experienced Assistant Teachers for our 3K / three-year-old classroom and our UPK / 4-year-old classroom with either an Associates Degree in ECE or a Bachelor's Degree in ECE. The candidates must have their NYS Assistant Teacher Certification Level 1 (ATAS), their DASA Training Certificate, and their School Violence Training Certificate. The ideal candidates would be enthusiastic, friendly, patient and nurturing team players. The candidates should possess good organizational skills and communication skills. The candidates should be able to work in a busy, active environment. A minimum of two (2) years of paid teaching experience in an early child care setting is required. Experience planning lessons and activities is a plus. Knowledge of Teaching Strategies Gold Online is a plus. Ability to speak either Spanish or Haitian Creole is a plus. This is a 12-month early childhood program, and all work is in person at our child care center.

Job Type: Full-time:  Pay: $32,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year

Weekly lesson planning, weekly student observations, completion of Health and Safety Logs, monthly student portfolio Sharing Books. Attending bi-weekly team meetings with the Group Teacher.  Attending monthly staff meetings.  Attending 12 staff development trainings per year.
