Description:

Part-time pre-k assistant teacher working with children ages three to five in a Head Start program.

Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the education director, the lead teacher's responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety and well-being of children by providing a clean and healthy environment.
• Providing a warm, nurturing environment that is conducive to learning.
• Assisting in screening children for potential developmental delays.
• Implementing The Creative Curriculum and Ongoing Assessment System.
• Assisting in planning curriculum activities that ensure children reach school readiness goals.
• Observing and documenting children's actions and language as part of ongoing assessment.
• Individualizing for children with I.E.P.s.
• Assisting with child outcomes analyses three times annually.
• Communicating with parents, guardians and caregivers.
• Participating in ongoing professional development and implementing new skills.
