The Classroom One-on-One Aide will assist the assigned child within the integrated setting of the Head Start program.
Helps establish a safe and healthy learning environment in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and NYS Office of Children and Family Services Daycare Licensing Regulations.
Works with education staff at the center to provide assessment information about the assigned child.
Supports Individual Plans for the assigned child and prepares learning materials as needed
to support individual goals.
Completes the “Daily Notes for One-on-One Aide Services” and “Verification of Services” forms and submits them to the Center Director by their due date.
Models positive child development practices including appropriate tone of voice, speaking to assigned child and all enrolled children at eye level, and continuously scanning the room for safety.
Supports follow-up activities for assigned child as prescribed by Service Providers.
Supports maintaining a classroom environment that encourages independence and meets the developmental needs of the assigned child.
Uses positive guidance and redirection to help the assigned child with anger and/or challenging behaviors.
High School Diploma. An interest in working with young children, including those with disabilities. A valid NYS driver's license.
