The Family Help Center is looking for Infant/Toddler/Preschool Classroom Assistant Teachers to join our team. The Family Help Center leads in quality care and programming for our children. We firmly believe all children can be helped to reach their potential through ongoing positive encouragement and daily support of their successes. 

Responsibilities:

Infant/Toddler/Preschool Classroom Assistant Teachers must be able to perform the following:

  • Apply direct care, safety, and nurturing of all children ages 6 weeks-2 years old or 3-4 years old by all education staff.
  • Assist in conducting daily operations and curriculum implementation of the classroom.
  • Be able to assist in implementing developmentally appropriate practice, early Head Start, Universal Pre-K, and/or state day care regulations in the classroom.
  • Be or willing to be certified in the Pyramid Model for social-emotional development and then be able to model and guide other staff.

Conduct classroom in absence of the lead teacher.

Qualifications:

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) or Associate's Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education (n-6) or its equivalent; Preferred minimum 2 years assistant teaching in an infant or toddler nursery or classroom in a NYS OCFS licensed child care center.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma; Preferred minimum of 1 year of assistant teaching in an infant, toddler, or preschool state licensed nursery or day care center.
