Description:

The After School Counselor is responsible for working with Site Directors to create and inviting environment for children during after school hours. You will be expected to engage with children, assist and/or lead various activities, actively supervise children, and ultimately present yourself as a positive role model.

Responsibilities:

Forming positive working relationship with the school and JCC personnel.

Ensuring excellent and diverse programing.

Forming relationships with children and parents.

Responsible for health and safety of children.

Keeping the site clean and organized.

Writing memos and informing parents of activities.

Maintaining accurate daily attendance records.

Communicating issues with your supervisor.

Responsible for following rules of site including lock up procedures.

Attending monthly staff trainings.

Implementation of behavior management strategies.

Qualifications:

Experience working with children

Qualified by New York Licensing

A positive upbeat spirit "can do" attitude and a great sense of fun!
