Each of these organizations presents activities that are specific to early childhood (birth through eight) and each acknowledges the importance of play-based, emotionally responsive, screen-free activities for young children. We encourage educators to be critical consumers during this crisis, and to beware of predatory companies asking families to sign-up for \u2018free trials\u2019 of their apps. This page will be updated frequently be sure to check back for new resources.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-layout-1 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/harmonyprogram.org\/introducing-harmony-at-home\/\">The Harmony Program<\/a> is a CUNY partner organization that brings intensive after-school music programs to communities with limited access to instrumental music education.\u00a0In response to the ongoing health crisis, the Harmony Program has developed an original series of YouTube-based, beginner music lessons, called <a href=\"http:\/\/harmonyprogram.org\/introducing-harmony-at-home\/\">\u201cHarmony at Home<\/a>.\u201d This free, year-long series consists of weekly, 30-minute lessons in music fundamentals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/earlychildhoodny.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Harmony-program.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4956\" src=\"https:\/\/earlychildhoodny.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/Harmony-program.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"282\" height=\"76\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/highqualityearlylearning.org\/\">The High Quality Early Learning Project<\/a> offer some <a href=\"https:\/\/highqualityearlylearning.org\/at-home-learning-activities\/\">suggested activities<\/a> that children can do at home or in school, in many cases without adult direction. These are designed to incorporate skills, knowledge, and understandings from a variety of disciplines (literacy, math, science, social studies, physical education and the arts).
