Located on the NYU campus, Creative Steps offers a play-based, child-centered curriculum with fun and diverse enrichment classes for children 12 months through 4 years including one full day DOE-funded UPK classroom.  As the Education Director, you will oversee staffing and curriculum to ensure proper coverage and compliance with program and funders’ standards.  You will play a pivotal role in mentoring and supporting teaching staff in meeting children’s needs through differentiated instruction and ensure they are collaborating with support service staff.  
 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage staffing, paperwork and curriculum to ensure proper coverage and compliance and program standards
  • Maintain high-quality programming with evidence-based curricular and child outcomes
  • Guide teaching staff on implementing lesson plans and responding to the social and emotional needs of children
  • Collaborate with management and teaching staff to provide continuous services to children and families
  • Develop and implement weekly staff meetings
  • Responsible for coordinating regular in-service trainings and bi-annual staff evaluations

Qualifications:

  • You have a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with NYS Early Childhood Teacher Certification 
  • You have 3+ years of combined experience as a teacher and/or early childhood supervisor
  • You’re a leader, mentor, coach, and able to inspire others
  • You thrive in a busy environment and able to shift gears when needed
  • You are willing to be an advocate for your program, participants and community 
  • You have a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion
