Cejka Executive Search has been exclusively engaged by the Research Foundation of SUNY Downstate Infant and Child Learning Center (ICLC) to recruit a progressive, mission-oriented and business savvy administrative leader to serve as the Executive Director for Early Childhood Programs. 

Recognized for its innovative concept, for more than 30 years, ICLC’s programs integrate community-based intervention programs with center-based preschool services for developmentally delayed and handicapped children, many of whom are medically fragile. ICLC provides early intervention services to infants and children who have been discharged from NICU and PICU of SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn Hospital and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. Consultation and educational services are offered at the High Risk and Well Baby Clinics as well as in the patient’s home or convenient community location. For the past 30 years, ICLC has diversified services and now include preschool and center-based programs. 

Responsibilities:

The Executive Director will have responsibility for the clinical, administrative, fiscal, regulatory, operations and strategic aspects of the Early Childhood Programs: preschool programs at ICLC and Lamm, the Early Intervention Program (Developmental Assessment Unit, Hospital/Home/Center-based program), Preschool Special Education Program (Assessment Unit, Center-based Special Education classes, Integrated class, Special Education Itinerant Teacher, and related services), Daycare and Universal Pre-K programs. The Executive Director serves as the Principal Investigator responsible for all grants and funding related to these programs and primary representative of the Early Childhood Programs to all related stakeholders including the SUNY Research Foundation, SUNY Downstate College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Department of Education, and NYS Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The Executive Director will be appointed as faculty in the Department of Pediatrics and provide oversight and participation in the training and education of Downstate medical students, residents, and fellows as well as provide supervision for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral level student and interns from Downstate and other academic institutions. 
 

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have progressive administrative responsibility in leading early childhood development programs and/or social services. Required experience includes fiscal oversight, budget development and management, staff and program management, fundraising, grant writing and management, program design and evaluation, and compliance of funding and regulatory agencies.
