Position Summary: Children’s Aid’s Early Childhood Division is founded on the belief that strong communities are built by children and families who have the access and skills and choice to create pathways to their success. 

The Division’s Deputy Director of Family & Community Engagement will ensure that the Division’s family support systems are running effectively in order to achieve real outcomes for families with young children. He/she will guide the Early Childhood division’s vision of ‘whole child, whole family’ and leverage family and community partnerships to promote a child’s school readiness. The position will ensure all levels of the Division understand how our integrated work positively impacts a child's school readiness, while ensuring that all Head Start Performance Standards and specific funding regulations are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities:

As a critical member of the Early Childhood central Leadership Team, the Deputy Director of Family & Community Engagement is responsible for the following:

Family and Community Engagement
•Oversee overall quality improvement in the Early Childhood’s family outcomes.
•Lead the strategy behind leveraging community partnerships towards better outcomes for children and families.

Program Design, Management and Supervision
•Continuously monitor and improve the Division’s Family and Community Engagement System.
•Supervise the Family Support team (i.e. Regional Family Services Director, Health Services Coordinator, Nutrition Coordinator, and Community Engagement Coordinator).

Leadership & Governance
•Join the EC Leadership Team to keep Children’s Aid’s Executive Staff, the Policy Council and the Head Start Board Committee informed on Family and Community progress over the course of each program year.

Continuous Quality Improvement & Outcomes
•Monitor family data progress and assess trends across the program year.
•Monitor progress and assess trends across assessment tools (i.e. FPAs, Health/Nutrition data, etc.)
•Explore innovative ways to strengthen monitoring and evaluation of the connection between child outcomes and family outcomes.

Professional Development
•Collaborate with the Central Leadership Team to plan, coordinate, and implement a wide range of diverse, applicable, and creative professional development opportunities for all staff.
•Participate in offered trainings, workshops, in-service days, and/or all-staff conferences.

Qualifications:


•Master’s in Social Work, Child Development or a related field required
•At least five years management experience, with experience in evaluation, systems, and staff development
•Strong administrative skills are required
•Excellent communication and computer skills
•Excellent organizational and time management skills
•Experience advocating for families
•Commitment to professional development for themselves and their staff
•Obtain certifications in CPR, First Aid and pass all background clearances
