The Children’s Program Administrator Credential (CPAC) program at the CUNY School of Professional Studies is an online, graduate-level program that supports early childhood program directors – or aspiring program directors – in their roles as administrators.

 

The Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) Certificate is 4-course, undergraduate certificate program that prepares students for the Child Development Associate Credential.

 

The Office of Worker Education and Workforce Development is seeking an organized and self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail, professional communication and interpersonal skills, to assist with the these two programs.

 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Higher Education Coordinator, the CPAC/CDA Assistant’s duties will include the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including information sessions and application sessions.
  • Provide assistance and support to prospective and current students throughout the application and enrollment process; assist in communicating the school’s academic policies to students
  • Assist in monitoring third-party payments and scholarship support for students; prepare billing information, as assigned. 
  • Assist in tracking adjunct faculty appointments, responding to adjunct faculty requests and questions, and monitoring non-instructional hours for fieldwork observers.
  • Assist with the coordination of logistics for grant-funded and/or off-site courses.
  • Liaise with other departments of CUNY SPS, including the Offices of the Registrar and Bursar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, or currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with data systems and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with an ability to address the needs of students, adjunct faculty, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, establish and meet goals and milestones, including the ability to make judgment calls and to respond tactfully in all situations.
  • Detail-oriented, with an ability to handle many issues concurrently.
  • Interest in early childhood education.
