We are a NYCEEC offering a full-time 10 month position, 9AM-5PM, September to June. Salary based on education/certification/study plan. Requirements are: Masters in ECE or Special Ed with a NYS Certification in N-6, B-2 or with a BA and have an approved study plan towards certification. Candidates must meet state educational licensing and additional center/school requirements. We use the DOE Units of Study and Work Sampling Systems in our Pre-K. Candidates should be familiar with Positive Behavior Guidance Strategies.

Responsibilities:

Having or registering for Masters in ECE or Special Ed with a NYS Certification in N-6, B-2. Pre-K - 6 or with a BA and are either in graduate school or have an approved study plan towards certification. Candidates must meet state educational licensing and additional center/school requirements. We use the DOE Units of Study and Work Sampling System for Authentic Assessment. We will work together to help candidate that is hired to learn about these tools. Responsibilities are to develop lesson plans, collaborate with assistant teacher/other Pre-K teachers and Ed. Director targeting instruction to meet the unit and students individual needs, work with large and small groups, communicate effectively with parents and staff. In addition, all teachers must complete the mandatory 2 hrs of training in child abuse and maltreatment as well as other required courses.

Qualifications:

Candidates upon hiring must complete all center requirements as needed as DOI and NYCDOE fingerprinting.. Candidates should have excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to work as a group as well as alone.
